About Matthew Kitchens

A copywriter turned middle-school-English teacher, Matthew Kitchens lives in Ennis, Texas, alongside his wife, Jennifer. Kitchens earned a B.A. in journalism from the University of Texas at Arlington and a M. Ed. in education technology from Lamar University. He has worked at the North-Texas dinner theater Medieval Times Dallas as a marketing assistant and at the Dallas ad-agency SullivanPerkins, where he served as copywriter for five years. Kitchens is currently employed at Ennis Junior High School as a seventh-grade reading/ELA instructor. An avid scribbler and self-described logophile, Kitchens opines on ed-tech and writing topics in his own corner of the web Grades and Upgrades, Too. An eternal word smith, Kitchens is still fascinated by writing, marketing, and all forms of professional communications.
