I went to high school in Ohio and I worked at a school in Ohio for 12 years.
I was excited when a tuba player from the town I lived in got to dot the script “I” in “Ohio.”
I randomly yell “O” “H” in crowds and wait for a response.
I was disappointed when JIm Tressel got fired but was excited when Urban Meyer got hired.
A year ago this week ESPN The Magazine published a wonderful story about Urban Meyer and his effort to balance work and life, “Urban Meyer will be home for dinner.”
Balancing work and family is a constant struggle for me. My problem is that I love my work and I love my family…I want more of both but there are only so many hours in the day.
I share this with you today not to compare myself to Urban Meyer — his successes or his lows. I share this with you today because I will be on vacation with my family this week and I plan on unplugging from my blog as well as my other social media channels while I am away.
I hope you have a great week and I’ll see you soon!
