Happy Social Media Saturday! Blog Post: Free Ways To Reach More People On Facebook – It’s been interesting to see the increase in social media ad spending as of late. A recent study based on a survey of over 500 online marketing and media professionals throughout the U.S. revealed that 64% of them planned to increase social media spending by as much as 10%!

With over 650 million daily active Facebook users as of March, 2013, which is a 26% increase year-over-year, this budget increase makes some sense.

However, while Facebook offers Insights to help monitor progress, there seems to be this sort of metric morass that has left many in the industry wondering about the effectiveness of social media ads – not to mention siphoning money into social media campaigns curtails other marketing channels.

Truth is, you don’t have to spend money to reach more people. Facebook’s EdgeRank, aka their News Feed algo, confirms that. You can increase your social media presence simply by sharing the right kind of text, photos and videos.

Here are a few ways you can reach more people on Facebook without spending a single dollar…

Blog Post: Promote Your Facebook Page with Facebook Page Promoter Lightbox – Facebook is one of the best social networking sites to promote your brand and drive traffic to your website. Many webmasters have taken time to create Facebook pages for their sites. That is a step in the right direction but you also need to engage your fans on Facebook and provide them with quality content. Those of you who want gain more followers on Facebook should let your visitors know about it.  Facebook Page Promoter Lightbox is one plugin you can use for that…

Blog Post: (HOW TO) WRITE A HEADLINE AND BECOME A MEDIA STAR – This ain’t Back to the Future. It’s Top Gun. We’re going time traveling—backwards. You with me? Here we go…

Is that Whitney Houston on the radio? Great song. Crank it. Oh, and did you hear? Mike Tyson’s the youngest heavyweight champ ever and the USSR doesn’t want to fight.

Aviator glasses? Right on. You don’t look quite as slick as “Maverick”  (Tom Cruise in “Top Gun”), but those screaming neon-colored parachute pants and your big hair are just perfect…

SchneiderB Bloc Facebook Group Latest Question: Hi Everyone! Quick Pinterest question for the experts: I am building our school’s Pinterest page and want to be sure I am creating inbound links back to our website or main Pinterest page. Brendan, I noticed on Sewickley’s Pinterest account, either the Sewickley home page domain or the link back to your main Pinterest page appears as the source for the pin. I have been uploading pictures saved (from either our home page or google) to my desktop, which I am now thinking won’t help much for SEO purposes since it simply states “Uploaded by user.” Any advice on how to link Pinterest pins most effectively? I hope this wasn’t completely confusing….
