In preparation for the SchneiderB VirCon5, I’m highlighting the ten school marketing experts who will be presenting on November 4, 2017. Learn More about the VirCon5.
This is 10 Questions with Danielle Wright. Danielle Wright is the Digital Content Designer at Gilmour Academy; Founder/Chief Strategist at Wright Relations, LLC.
1. What is your session title for the VirCon5?
Bridging the Gap: Tools and Best Practices for School Content Designers
2. What will the attendees learn/know after watching your session?
I want people to gain valuable tools for working with multiple constituents across campus. They should walk away knowing how to curate content from multiple sources on campus, develop a system for uploading and sharing content (videos and photos), how to repurpose one piece of content for multiple platforms and publications (print and digital) and how to to create an event/campaign intake form to plan out communications (eBlasts, social campaigns, webpage builds, printed collateral, etc.)
3. What is your favorite social media channel and why?
Instagram! I love sharing pictures and being able to take a video and chop into 60-second segments is an amazing thing for content creators. The highly searchable hashtags are also a gem.
4. What is one marketing goal that you hope to accomplish during the 17-18 school year?
I would like to see a 25% increase in engagement, specifically comments, for Gilmour Academy and would also like to maintain 5 projects/clients per month for Wright Relations.
5. What is your favorite marketing piece of advice for schools?
Know your mission and build your content based on that. Don’t try to be what other schools are, be your school’s brand.
6. What is your favorite marketing book?
My new favorite is Michael Tatonetti’s Do Meaningful Work: The Journey of Becoming.
7. What is something that people might be surprised to know about you?
I was a three-sport student-athlete through high school. I played field hockey, basketball, and softball
8. Kindle or Actual Book?
An actual book, but learning to love eBooks.
9. iPhone or Android?
iPhone, but I continually dabble with the Android system due to different features. I love technology and would have multiple phones just for all the gadgets I want LOL.
10. What is one App that you can’t live without?
Right now I am fixated on Hurdlr – a free finance tracking app.
