Happy Social Media Saturday! Listed below in my Weekend Update are links to interesting things I found on the web this week: cool tools, great blog posts, or questions/comments from one of the SchneiderB.com online communities – anything that stuck out to me and I think is worth sharing. I encourage you to check them out for yourself!
Blog Post: The 45 Inbound Marketing Terms You Should Know [Glossary] – Here on the HubSpot blog, we’ve written glossary-themed posts that cover some of the core components of inbound marketing — we’ve covered email marketing, website optimization, social media, and the list goes on.
So we thought it was time to create a blog post that could serve as an inbound marketing glossary.
Now, I’m no math whiz, but when you try to make a glossary based on a topic with sub-categories that could be their own glossaries, well — that’s a lot of gloss. So instead of throwing hundreds of terms at you from all those other glossaries, I narrowed this one down to the top 45 terms that are imperative to anyone learning inbound marketing.
Yes, there will be debate on the imperative-ness of these terms. Yes, I did volunteer to write this seemingly daunting post. Yes, let’s start this darn glossary already…
Blog Post: Hashtags Come to Google Search Results – The Google+ integration of hashtags is getting a nice updates with Google search. Google+ introduced hashtags on posts back in May, where users can click on the hashtags and get to other related posts on Google+ with the same hashtag.
Google is now gone a step further by allowing those same hashtags to be used when searching in Google. Simply type in “#keyword” for the hashtags you want to search:
Blog Post: Facebook Now Lets You Edit Posts – Facebook announced yesterday that you can now edit your posts. If you’ve ever had an unfortunate typo in your post (who hasn’t, right?), you can rest easy knowing you’ll now be able to quickly and easily edit it. But, the option to edit posts is only available right now for the Android Facebook App.According to Mashable, “The editing feature will roll out to Facebook users on the web and Android devices over the next day. The editing feature is not included in the latest iOS app, but will likely get pushed out in the next update.”
Blog Post: How to Write a Professional E-mail that Gets a Reply – Who doesn’t know how to write an email? Everyone emails, don’t they? Well, let me start by telling you that there are emails and then there are professional emails.
As a freelance blogger, writer, content marketer and what have you; my best guess is that your emails are professionally intent and the primary concern each time you write an email is to get a reply on it?
It’s no-brainer e-mails are becoming the primary objects of online marketing.
Tell me one thing we do today online that does not involve writing an e-mail and you can stop reading this article right now!
Sprout Social. – Sprout Social is my social media management software of choice. They do charge a monthly fee but I think it’s very worth it. If you click on this link you can sign-up for a 30 day free trial.

Latest Question – The terms “meta data” and Digital Asset Mgmt (DAM) have just been thrown at me. How are you guys storing your photos? And how are you archiving them for the future since no one has “real” pictures anymore. What about software? In a perfect world there would be something that would allow me to upload each students school photo, and facial recognition would work its magic and tag them even if their photos go back to PreK. I know, I am dreaming of utopia again. Thoughts?
I’m always on the look out for great content so I need your help! Please share the links to great articles that you found this week by posting them in the comments section below.
